Dr. Paul Tanners, DDS & Prosthodontist
Paul Tanners specializes in prosthodontics. He founded his private practice in Manhattan in 1966. A New York native, Dr. Tanners graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in biology. He received his D.D.S. in 1962 from New York University College of Dentistry. He supplemented his education with an internship at the Veterans Hospital in New York, followed by three years of post-graduate training in prosthodontics at NYU on a National Institutes of Health teacher-trainee research fellowship.
Dr. Tanners has been a member of the Board of Directors of the N.Y.U. College of Dentistry and lectured in its Department of Prosthodontics. More recently, he has served as a guest lecturer to the Greater New York Association of Occupational Health Nurses. His professional recognition includes:

Dr. Tanners' extensive dental experience and knowledge have allowed him to serve as an expert source for numerous national media outlets including CNN, New York Magazine, New York Times, The Early Show, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Vogue. In addition, Dr. Tanners' expertise is called upon for his testimony as a forensics expert in dental malpractice cases on both the plaintiff and defense sides.
Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Tanners still takes the time to call each of his patients at home the night after a procedure has been performed to make sure they are healing and feeling well.

Dr. Cristian Jager, DDS, PC
Cris Jager graduated from New York University College of Dentistry 1995 and was a resident at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1996. He received his Certificate in Prosthodontics from NYU in 1999 and has been working with Dr. Tanners since. He conducts general dentistry and restorative and cosmetic dental procedures with compassion and care for his patients. Dr. Jager is beloved by his patients. He is well respected as a dental expert who cares about the patient's whole experience, though his work focuses on their mouths.

Dr. Steve B. Manson, DDS, FAGD
Dr. Steve Manson is a general practitioner who is skilled in all phases of dentistry. He is a third generation dentist and recognized as considerate, highly attentive, and very gentle. Dr. Manson graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1984 and did his general practice residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1985. Subsequently, Dr. Manson was an attending at Mount Sinai Hospital for the 12 years that followed. In 1994, he completed a fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the New York County Dental Society, and the Dental Study Club of New York.

Dr. Zweifler, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon & General Surgeon
Dr. Michelle Zweifler specializes in facial rejuvenation as well as breast and body contouring. For the past three years, she has worked with Dr. Tanners, providing Botox and collagen injections to patients in his office, and offering cosmetic consultations upon request.
During her medical training, Dr. Zweifler received numerous honors and awards including the Samuel L. Kountz Award for Clinical Excellence in Surgery and the John O. Vieta Award for Professional Excellence and Compassionate Care.
Dr. Zweifler is truly committed and dedicated to achieving excellent cosmetic results for her patients. She is well respected by her patients and her colleagues and is proud to be a part of the innovative work being conducted at Dr. Tanners' dental practice.

Liesel Melchor, RDH
Liesel is originally from Reno, Nevada, where she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science. She continued her education by attending New York University's dental hygiene program, where she graduated with honors.
As a registered dental hygienist, Liesel's caring nature and concern make patients feel very comfortable. She is dedicated to each patient's oral health and well being and to creating a hygiene experience that is as pleasant as possible.

Swati Vohra, RDH
Swati received her degree in dental hygiene with honors from Middlesex County College in New Jersey and has more than ten years of experience as an office manager and dental assistant. Since joining our practice in the summer of 2007, Swati's passion for her profession has constantly been translated into excellent patient care.
Her goal in dental hygiene is to provide the highest level of care with the latest soft tissue management techniques and to convey the importance of a healthy clean mouth as it relates to total body health. Swati's professional skill is matched by her bright smile and gentle touch.

Judy Lebowitz, Hygienist, RDH, B.S.
Judy Lebowitz has been a valuable member of Dr. Tanners' team for the past eighteen years. She earned a BS in dental hygiene from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. As the staff hygienist, Judy helps keep patients' teeth and mouths clean and healthy and is the first to alert them to any potential problems. Her ever-smiling face and phenomenal spirit are known and loved by the staff and patients alike. Judy currently acts as the office's hygiene coordinator, assuring that patients are comfortable and well cared for.

Sonia Cumberbatch, Office Manager
Sonia has been managing Dr. Tanners' office fourteen years. Her managerial wizardry, expertise, and efficiency are legendary throughout the practice and she is admired by patients and staff members alike. Sonia's combination of dedication to her work and caring attention to patients make her an absolutely vital support system in Dr. Tanners' office.

Carol Beckford, Patient Coordinator & Front Desk Supervisor
Carol has been with Dr. Tanners' professional team for ten years. As the first point of contact for our patients, Carol's warmth and ever-apparent care shine through in her greetings and friendly phone calls. She keeps the appointment book organized and helps patients get in to see their doctors as quickly as possible. Carol is dedicated to her job and to the patients who rely upon her to make their time in the waiting room as brief and pleasant as possible.

Elba Guerrero, Dental Assistant
Always seen chair-side, Elba has been with Dr. Tanners' professional team for seven years. She is an office darling whose soothing and supportive nature keeps her colleagues and patients in maximum relaxation mode for hours on end. Like a healthy dose of Valium, Elba is known as the relaxation queen in the office.

Arlene Ramsay, Dental Assistant
Arlene, a familiar face during dental procedures, has been a valuable member of Dr. Tanners' team for eighteen years. She is an organized, precise, and respected dental assistant who is beloved by the staff and patients. Arlene is the "go to girl," in charge of the office's clinical area and procedural organization. Her attention and care create a comfortable and efficient dental experience for all our patients.

Lucy recently joined Dr. Tanners' staff with twenty years of experience as a dental assistant. Lucy combines her knowledge and skill with a calming touch and glowing smile that have made her a valued and beloved member of Dr. Tanners' team.

Cathy Spiegel, Relaxation Therapist
Cathy Spiegel grew up working for her father, a renowned oral surgeon on the south shore of Long Island. For the past eight years, she has worked as a relaxation therapist, all the while aspiring to one day incorporate her talents as a relaxation therapist into the sometimes stressful dental office environment. Cathy's cheerful disposition and soothing touch make every patient's visit a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
